Sunbathing & The Sea
The Sea
Nothing beats the feeling of swimming in the ocean, however please remember to always respect the sea. There can be some very strong currents and rips on some of the beaches in Bali. Before you go swimming on a new beach ask around and find out if there are any strong currents or rips before venturing in.
Bali is a fantastic place to try sports such as surfing, wind surfing, snorkeling and diving. So take advantage of what Bali has to offer while making sure you stay safe. If you’ve never done these before then go to a proper school to learn.
Even if you’re already mastered your sport it’s still a good idea to go and chat with people who know the sea firsthand. Better still, make some new friends by inviting them along to join you!
Sunscreen
Be sun smart while you’re in Bali because it doesn’t take long to burn. Make sure you use a good sunscreen whenever you’re out in the sun. This way you can get yourself a lovely tan without burning!
And while on the subject of the sun – remember to take in the amazing sunsets. The sunsets in Bali are some of the most incredible in the entire world.
Finally a note on topless sunbathing…
Please don’t even go there. DO NOT go topless. It is completly disrespectful to the local Balinese people. I have seen for myself how upset they get.
The Balinese people are very respectful to each other and to us as tourists. Going topless is very insulting to them and they do get really get upset about it. Not only that, they’ll lose their respect for you.
